The Middlesex County 4-H Fair, Inc. is a non-profit organization (501c) run entirely by volunteers. A 14-member volunteer Board of Directors oversees the operation of the Fair and management of the fairgrounds in Westford.
The Fair is an agricultural, non-commercial, youth fair, and all of our exhibitors are members of 4-H Clubs in Middlesex County and beyond.

Fair Directors are elected to the Board at the Annual Meeting in November, for either a one or a three year term. If you have an interest in joining the Board, please speak up! Send us a note through the Contact Us page. Vacancies do occur, and we are always looking for people who want to get involved.
All net proceeds after expenses that are received from the Fair and rental activity on the grounds are applied solely to the improvement, repair and/or maintenance of the grounds and equipment.
Additional funding is provided through grants and donations.

The Middlesex County 4-H Fair, Inc. was formed as a non-profit corporation in Massachusetts on April 5, 1955 with the signing of the Charter. During the following year, the corporation acquired the land on South Chelmsford Road in Westford that is used as the fairgrounds. The land was obtained through donations; one parcel from a private donor and a second parcel deeded by the Town of Westford.

The first fair held on these fairgrounds was in 1956. Over the ensuing years, volunteers built all of the buildings on the grounds including snack bars and kitchen buildings, the main exhibit hall called the "Static Building", livestock barns and show rings. Many of these buildings have since been improved, rebuilt or relocated on the grounds as funding and time allowed.

Founded in 1908, 4-H is the largest youth development program in the country reaching more then 27,000 youth in Massachusetts and 6 million young people annually throughout the country.

Massachusetts 4-H is part of the University of Massachusetts Extension Programming. The 4-H program is open to youth ages 5-18 throughout Massachusetts. No matter where you live or what you would like to explore, Massachusetts 4-H has something for you! The 4-H Youth Development Program offers many projects, activities, and programs where young people can explore, learn, and grow. You can choose from many areas, including robotics, foods, consumer science, career exploration, community service, photography, leadership, and animal science projects.
