Dear 4-H Leaders, Parents, Members and Volunteers,

MEETINGS
The Board meets the second Wednesday of each month through May. In June and July we meet on the second Monday of the month, and in August we meet each Monday night. We ask that you let us know in advance if you would like to be put on our agenda so that we can plan sufficient time for you to address the Board. Please send a note to the Fair email address.
2012 4-H FAIR
The dates for the 2012 4-H Fair will be August 24, 25 and 26. This is the weekend prior to Labor Day weekend, and has been our traditional fair weekend. A lot of thought and consideration went into making this difficult decision and we appreciate all the input that was received from so many of you.
GENERAL SCHEDULE FOR THE YEAR
More information will be distributed at a later time for specific events that will be happening, but here is an overview of the year:
- April: During mid to late April we will have a grounds cleanup day, usually held on a Saturday or Sunday. Volunteers will be needed to clean up brush and branches and get our buildings ready for the summer season.
- June: Worknights will begin on Monday, June 4 and continue through the summer until August 27. The goal of worknights is to start with cleanup of leaves and then move on to building repairs and renovations including general carpentry and painting and beautification of the grounds. We encourage clubs to sign up for specific projects that they would like to take on.
- August: The deadline for entries will be July 30. Immediately after this deadline, the office staff of Linda Gardner and Karen MacPherson begin processing all of the paperwork. Teen and adult volunteers are needed to assist them in the office on weekday afternoons through August.
VOLUNTEER NEEDS
Please remember that the Fair is run completely by volunteers! Many of these volunteers give a tremendous amount of their time throughout the year to make sure that the fair is a success. During the summer there is much work to be done to prepare the grounds and buildings for the fair; during the fair help is needed in our kitchen, snack bars, country store and BBQ, and at rides and the admission gates. Please help out! Let us know if there is a certain area where you would like to assist either throughout the year or during the Fair.
PREMIUM CHECKS
Premium checks for prize money won at the 2011 Fair will be issued within the next few weeks.
PREMIUM LIST
The premium list for the 2012 Fair is in production and will be ready later this spring. We ask that Department Chairmen send in any changes if they have not yet done so. A listing of Challenge Lots will be available at Winter Forum.
Please watch the website for further updates and information throughout the year: And feel free to contact us with any questions or suggestions!
